Home Repairs
All applicants must demonstrate the same criteria as the homeownership selection policy criteria:
Need for safe, decent, quality housing
Applicants must lack adequate resources or ability to accomplish repairs that impact health, safety and accessibility.
Willingness to partner with HFHCV (including, if required, Sweat Equity)
Applicants who are able and over the age of 18 are required to be present and engage on their work site with HHFCV volunteers and staff
Ability to pay an affordable no interest loan for the cost of the repairs
Applicants must demonstrate that their household income is between 40% and 70% of the area median for the county they reside in. Income Guidelines
Selecting Partners
Applicants must be a legal resident of the U.S.
Mortgage must be current
Certificate of homeowner’s insurance is required
Applicants must have verifiable and sustainable income
HFHCV will not perform services for the following:
Applicants that do not own and occupy the home for which the work is requested
Applicants residing outside the affiliate service area (Chattooga, Floyd and Polk County)
Aesthetic home improvements
Projects that could jeopardize HFHCV volunteers or staff participating the project
Applications can be submitted beginning January 6, 2025.
